I have dreamt for a long time to own a brand new car. Like so many other people on a low basic salary, this dream remains just that. Being on such a low basic salary means it is hard for me to gain credit. It means very often things I could comfortably afford are left out of my reach purely because credit companies do not acknowledge my true earnings that are above average. This is because my basic salary is made up of guaranteed bonuses and one off performance related payments. I earn more than all my friends. I even consider my performance related structure of payment to be a lot more motivational than a normal monthly amount. If I work harder, I earn more.
I like to watch the global markets and how banks generate their huge income and wealth. I very often read the financial times feeling cheated and frustrated that so many things were left out of my reach. When the markets started to fault and later fail, I saw a large change in how credit companies reacted. Firstly they stopped giving loans, mortgages etc. This of course could not continue. They make their revenue by lending money.
The credit companies had to re-think how they could secure future loans and credit agreements. Their lending criteria had to be simplified or they themselves would go out of business. This change in credit ratings gave me an opportunity to gain credit as the companies were looking for new clients from different areas. I ceased the moment and decided to go for a new car. Since it has been a dream of mine, I had done a lot of thinking about purchasing a new car. I had long ago decided that a car lease would suit my needs much better than a loan from a bank. A car lease gave me the chance to purchase lease a car for a fixed regular monthly payment. I had already saved some money, which will now be a large deposit.
I took no time in contacting the car lease agency near my home. They asked the normal questions about work, owning my own home, UK driving license and then on to what type of lease I wanted. After having done my research about car leasing, I had all the right answers ready. I was asked to visit the local car lease office to sign a few forms. Shortly after this, I was contacted to inform me I was free to start looking for a new lease car. You guessed it I have already done my homework. I already knew what car I wanted and just as important which one I could afford not only monthly but one I can afford to run petrol wise etc. I recommend car lease for anyone who wants to affordably own a new car.
